Meeting Update 10/6

Hey Cool Cats,
As our meeting Monday made apparent, the Women's Center is getting down and active, so we need a lot of help. Here's what we talked about:

I. Take Back the Night: Details are coming together! SARC is leading our indoor healing circle at 5 PM on Friday, October 24. The healing circle will be in UC 326. At 6 we begin our march by the grizzly lecture in the oval. The march will be silent and candle-lit. We've approved the route, through the street down University and then North on the left-hand sidewalk of Higgins, around the Xs and to Dauphine's cafe on Broadway. There we will have speakers and entertainment from 7 to 10. Our speakers are David Moore, Kate from SARC, the PP teen girls group, and possibly somebody from WVE. Hopefully we can have Shelby play for us as well as some other female entertainers.

II. Love Your Body Day
It looks like we'll need to put our display on a roll-out wall in the UC. It will be out on Wednesday October 15th.
Later, (early November) a larger display will be going up in the market or one of the UC conference rooms.
It looks like it will be costing us around 300 without donations and discounts.
So...we need help (and ideas):

III. Self-Defense Classes
October 18th is the first ALL-DAY introductory-level course. from approx. 10 to 4. available to female, griz-card-holding students only.

Thanks, Kindra
